The
is a DIY Kit multiplexing 64 inputs or outputs to a single pin on your microcontroller. If you are in the middle of a project with e.g. and Arduino board, and you need to add up to 64 analog sensors this is your easiest way out.
The 64[DE]MUX design was commissioned by the Samsung Art and Design Institute in 2007 and has been used in many projects since. For further references, you could check the "Alacran Enamorado" project, there are pictures here and a video here. That art installation used the 64[DE]MUX to gather all the signals from the different switches in the system into one Arduino Diecimila that would then send the signals back to a computer.
It is the perfect choice if you are planning to make inexpensive controllers with lots of knobs or sliders to connect to e.g. Puredata.
The kit includes the PCB, 9x4051 [de]multiplexers, IC sockets, capacitors, pull-up resistors, power LED, and male or female connectors (please indicate when ordering whether you prefer one or the other, by default we serve female connectors).
We are about to release v0002 for this design, you can follow the developmet through our repository.
If you need the functionality but you don't want to solder the circuit, you have the option to order it premounted. We can send you a quote, just contact us by email at: orders [at] blushingboy.org
