The
[revision #2 - codename Panora] is a DIY kit for those interested in making a final self-contained project playing mono-sound, with the possibility of including SD memory cards.
Thanks to the SD card support, this prototype is suitable for playing pre-recorded WAV files, making small MOD-like players, etc.
It counts with an on-board amplifier, making very easy to mount your standalone projects. There is also a PS2 connector for you to connect a computer mouse or keyboard.
The microcontroller comes preprogrammed with the Arduino 2009 bootloader allowing you reprogram the on-board software easily by using just 4 wires connected to an Arduino board or any USB-serial converter.
This kit is ideal for those luthiers looking for a more finished device to integrate in their own designs.
The kit includes: the pcb, a LM386 analog amplifier, a sound jack connector, power input with a 5V regulator -takes up to 20V DC at the input from batteries or power supplies-, capacitors, resistors, a PS2 connector, DC jack, 16MHz crystal, and pin headers.
Note: the picture included corresponds to our first prototype of the Smapler v1, it has now a proper silkprint and a better way to connect the SD card.
You can find more information about the Smapler-v0001r2 at our repository, as well as the SDplayWAV library, that allows to easily play WAV sounds recorded using a computer.
The official documentation includes schematics, code examples, mounting instructions, etc. The step-by-step instructions in how to mount the Smapler v1 is also found as Instructable, just follow this link.
