PCB MAKING - ARDUINO SHIELD

With this deal we will manufacture for you 5 copies of an Arduino shield (or Arduino-shaped board) for a flat-rate. We will deliver it to you via Swedish postal service. The maximum waiting time until shipping is 8 workdays from the day you place the order. The circuit will be double-sided and with silkprint on the top layer.

If you want to order 10 copies, just add the product twice to your shopping cart. 15, add it three times. 20?, four times then. If you want more than 20 copies, ask us for a quote, we can probably get you an even better deal since you will be entering production prices. The delivery costs will be added at the end of the checkout process. You can add several manufacturing orders to your cart, as well as other products from our shop.

HOW IT WORKS

We group 12 orders together in a single panel. By keeping the same form factor in all the orders, we can cut down the manufacturing costs.

The panelization is made by BlushingBoy and the circuits are manufactured in Europe at the same factory as the Arduino boards. This means basically that your PCBs will be as eco-friendly as they can be, but also that the delivery costs are much lower.

Once the circuits are manufactured, they are shipped to Sweden via UPS and redistributed worldwide from here. Our experience is that shipping to any EU country takes up to 3 days. This means that in 11 workdays you would get your PCBs on your desk.

It takes about 30-40m to evaluate each circuit and correct it when adding it to the panel. This is made by hand inside a special CAD system. It is pretty hard to automatize this process since we need to check out if your PCBs present any problems.

In the future we will offer as many colors as in the rainbow, however we are going to start by making the prototypes either Arduino-blue with white silkprint or white with black silkprint. Keeping these colors is also making the whole thing cheaper.

FILES

You can provide us with either eagle or gerber files. We will manufacture them and publish the design files with a reference to you on our project repository. We will also give you access to it for you to modify/expand the design and its documentation. Remember that the more documentation, the higher possibility to get people to buy your design.

You can take a look at our repository to see how we send our circuits to manufacture. The motor shield is a classic of ours including eagle, gerber, some pdfs, and partlist. Of course you don't need to make it the same way, the eagle files are more than enough.

LICENSE MODEL

The deal establishes that the design you upload will be Creative Commons Share Alike, like any of the Arduino reference designs. According to this license, you agree that anybody can reuse the design, manufacture it with or without modifications, and sell it.

If you are interested in a different type of license when manufacturing, please contact us for a quote at: orders [at] blushingboy.org.

SELLING YOUR DESIGN

From BlushingBoy we want to promote the growth of Open Source Hardware by means of this initiative. We are not making (almost) any money when manufacturing your prototypes. However, if we decided to sell further copies of it or kits including your PCB and other parts, we would pay you 10% of the total sell-price.

This means that you wouldn't have to do anything, just be paid for the revenues generated by your creation. We would stock the parts, package the kits, handle the shipments and report you back.
